Spartacus Rugby, Vänersborg, Swedish All Stars and Oslo Rugby Klubb met in Göteborg on Sunday.
Conditions were not perfect for 7’s rugby as the pitch was flooded by heavy rains just before the tournament. So it is in puddles that girls had to play there rugby.



The first difficult game for Oslo was against Vänersborg. Vänersborg was well organised in attack against other teams, sending balls quickly to the wing and outrunning their opponent. Oslo managed to put pressure on Vänersborg and stop them from using their skills. Oslo often managed to push Vänersborg to retreat and force them to faults.



The Swedish All Stars likewise showed some fine running, excellent handling skills to run in a number of quality tries. Swedish All Stars and Oslo Rugby Klubb logically met at the final game of the day.
Oslo, with a perfectly constructed sequence, scored their first try after only 30 seconds. Swedish all stars kicked the ball at kickoff. Oslo immediately fixed the Swedish defence with a perfect “ruck”. The ball came out quickly to “Fly half” and “centre” while “scum half” came in support between them, ball changed direction twice and tricked the defence leaving a huge gap for “winger” to run to score.
Swedish moral was down, and Oslo girls were determined to continue.
The intensity of play went up 1 level, with more determination on both sides, but Oslo’s impenetrable defence decided where the trophy would go and it was the Norwegian girls who won by 3 tries to 0 and secured a 100% record to win the Spartacus 7’s tournament.
