Stavanger sends brutal warning to all
SRK 92 - Trondheim 0
[02-06-2007]
Stavanger won by a massive 92 points against a good Trondheim side this
weekend. For a team playng an away fixture here in Norway, a win is
great, but to win by such a margin is proof that Stavanger mean business
this year. After Bergen's awful performance against Tønsberg
last weekend, it shows we have a lot of hard work to
do before we are ready for our Stavanger fixture.

Nice
prize to win
[03-06-2007]
He is like the gammelost.
The oldest he is, the better he becomes. Moreover, he has played all
the games this year so far, even for the national team. If you know
who this player is, send an email to Ian
(aka Gammel Oupa). The first one to answer wins a gammelost.

POOR SHOWING FOR ECB FIXTURE SO FAR
[15-05-2007]
Bergen's series game against ECB in Tønsberg is coming up shortly
(26th May).
As of today's date, 15th May, we don't have a full squad yet. As we
have a members list of 30, we should have no excuse not to turn up.
The schedule has been out for ages for people to plan, so step up boys.

BRK
captain out for 6 weeks
[05-05-2007]
Bergen's captain, Hanro van Wyk, ripped his Achilles tendon in
the series game against Oslo.
Its apparently hanging on by a thread, so even the "cowboys don't
cry" boy has to chill out for a while. It also means Hanro, one
of Norway's game-breakers, will miss out on the national team tour to
Bulgaria (leaving on the 16th May).

NY
BRK STYRE
[08-02-2007]

important outcome is that the girls have left BRK and will now be known

BRK 0 - 15 Oslo
[13-10-2007]

0-15 may not reflect the true nature of this closely-contested match
between old rivals, but its a tough scoreline to write up in our yearbook.
Full credit goes to Oslo for travelling with a full squad of keen players,
determined to take the trophy back to the Østlandet.

BRK
12 - 10 Stavanger
[22-09-2007]

Think I'm still holding my breath after this one....
As expected, a tight game was played with Bergen being deserved winners
in this vital series game. That now means we have a home semi-final
on the 6th October against ECB (we all remember THAT game earlier
this year...) and, all going to plan, a home final on the 13th
October against either Oslo or Stavanger.

BRK
71 - 0 Trondheim
[08-09-2007]
"The
support was great from the forwards though the line-outs were almost
a total disaster. A good summary could be : The jumpers refused to jump
and the lifters
refused to lift. Luckily, the hooker, Karl, didn't refuse to throw the
ball and poor line-outs from the opposite side allowed BRK to grab some
balls."

Yellows 22 - 19 BRK Reds

In a close game played during the only rainless hours we had for about
2 weeks, Yellows beat Reds - one try making the difference. Not the
best rugby by any means, but some good performances by some, especially
the juniors.

ECB
53 - BRK 15
[26-05-2007]
2 records here: Bergen
lost for the first time EVER against Tønsberg in a 15s game;
and 53-15 is the biggest loss by Bergen to ANY team EVER.
That was
revenge for the 2006 NM's final and ECB didn't miss the chance. Score
was 53-15 though it was very close at half-time. However, travelling
with only 13 players is never a good sign before a game and just for
that Bergen didn't deserve to win. It shows us how difficult it's going
to be to hold our title for the 4th year in a row. A lot of work has
to be achieved and hopefully we'll do better during the second part
of the season.
-------------------------------->->
BRK
5 - HMS Illustrious 25
[06-05-2007]

HMS
Illustrious, a visiting British Royal Navy
aircraft carrier, was keen on a game against us as they have one of
the stronger sides in the navy. After great weather the day before,
the petulant Bergen weather gods made them wish they hadn't. BRK failed
to meet up with a full team the day after our Oslo win, so, thanks to
3 of our juniors and a couple of borrowed navy boys, a game did kick
off at Haakonsvern under grey, wet skies. We were outplayed, especially
in the 2nd half. The navy boys' support play was especially a lesson
to be learned. We'd liked to have had a game against them with our full
strength team - could have been a much tighter game. Hopefully there
will be more opportunities to come.
Match referee: Martijn.

BRK
26 - ORK 19
[05-05-2007]
The weather gods smiled on us for once as Bergen secured a win against
an understrength Oslo side. The first half was a great period of play
for BRK, but ORK came back in the 2nd, giving us precious little ball.
BRK held off many attacks towards the end to hold the lead and win the
game.

BRK
57 - OSI 0
[28-04-2007]
BRK's first series game started off well with a good win over a gutsy
OSI team. OSI are new to Bergen and were therefore an unknown. Two new
virgins, Mick and Collum, both Irish, made their debut.

VALHALL
GOLD & BRONZE
[19-02-2007]
Having a good turnout for the first tournament of the season with 2
men's teams (thanks again to the juniors) and one girls', there were
mixed results - the girls keeping Bergen heads held high. The men's
"development" side got the wooden spoon and the "first"
team managed bronze. As has been the case lately, the tournament was
won by ECB.

NM
CUP STAYS IN BERGEN
BRK 23 - ECB 3
[21-10-2006]
"A further try was added ten minutes later by the Spanish center,
Alvaro, who no doubt had King Juan Carlos choking with delight on his
garlic prawns back in Seville. The crowd finally got what they had paid
for moments later with a rare chance to see the flying winger, Kenny
make his long awaited appearance..." .
