| Stavanger RK - Bergen RK : 10 -12
Typical Bergen weather for the most important league game of the season. Bergen has trained hard the whole week (with an extra session for the fat forwards on wednesday). Bergen had to win that game to secure an home game for the semi-final. Moreover, Bergen has never lost against Stavanger. That's our oldest record that everyone wanted to keep. Bergen could have a better start as Stavanger was leading 10-0 after 20 minutes. An early penalty and a try by their inside center gave them the lead. Bergen was trying hard to come back into the game but three knock-ons right on the try line ruined all the efforts. The last second before half-time, the ball came finally to our second center, Even, who ran through a gap and scored. Tim didn't miss the chance to add two more points and Bergen was three points behind at half time. Second half was dominated from the 1st minute to the 39th minute by the All Blacks and Reds. Despite this domination (our scrum really pushed back Stavanger's one), Bergen repeatedly failed to score. It was always a small knock-on, a stupid mistake, ..., and some good defense from Stavanger to not make us score. However, the french full back from Stavanger has probably watched too much Michalak (international french fly-half) on TV and failed to find a touch. Our full back, Rohan (therbro fo Hanro) caught this ball as Percy Montgomery (international South African full back) would have done, ran straight on 40 meters and scored on the corner. At the last minute of the game, Stavanger suddenly came into Bergen's half (for the first time of the second half) and put some pressure on the Bergen's defense. We could have lost that game... Stavanger could have been awarded a penalty if the ref had watched closer our (off-side) position in the rucks situation. Hopefully, we will not need 25 occasions to score a try next game. Some stupids things costed us some penalties. Every game we give away 4 or 5 penalties because some of the players stamp, punch, ... One day, it will cost us a game and maybe a trophee. These players know who they are and must work a little bit on that. The other good news of the week-end is that Oslo won against ECB. That means that if we win our semi-final, we will play the final at home as well. Our semi-final will be played against ECB, the runner-up from last year and the only team who beat us (badly) this year. Everyone
was unanimous on who the best player of the game was:
