TRONDHEIM 10'S 2005
24th of September by Mr 53-3
After a
rough landing at Værnes, Trondheim's airport - ask Hamish what the inclinaison
of our plane was (it has probably reached 90 degrees today) - we enjoyed
a couple of beers at Guillaume's place where we slept. At the same time,
Karl and the juniors were in the middle of nowhere, having a nice 15
hours trip by bus between Bergen and Trondheim. Aussie Dave was in a
very good mood and was telling us his best jockes. We give our readers
only the best one : «My father had received a bottle of the smokiest
whisky in the world». Yes, you had to laugh...
Late on the night, David Hume stood up and said : «NO MORE BULLSHIT
(© A.C. 2005)». He went to bed, arguing that he had a NRF's meeting
at kl 07.30. Stakkars Dave... To make our feminin readers happy, we
took a picture of Dave. We can all listen to Krissy saying : «It's cute...»
or «That's lovely...».

No more to say on that night and on the next morning. I just want to
add the smokiest story of this morning (remember you have to
laugh even if (or especially if) it's not funny) :
Séverine (Guillaume's wife) asked Guillaume : «Why didn't you buy some
red milk (hel melk) to the boys ?»
Guillaume : «Heuuuu... I bought this kind of milk». He showed a green-pink
bottle of milk (økologisk melk).
Séverine : «Waaaaa... Why did you buy such a milk ?»
Guillaume : « ..... »
Sorry to remind you again, but you have to laugh...
OK, «NO MORE BULLSHIT (© A.C. 2005)» and let's have a look on what happened
on the pitches. Windy conditions but nice pitches though. We were on
the same group as Oslo and an aussie side from London. We won our first
game 14-12 against Oslo. Oslo had the lead twice but two tries from
our new super scrum-half Dave Hume and Hervé converted by Hamish gave
to Bergen the win. Next game against the Aussie was a disgrace with
the Aussies scoring far too many tries in the first half. Playing only
a forward game in the second-half, Bergen was able to level the Aussies
with Dave Hume scoring another try. The score ended with 26 to 7 for
the Aussies. We played the semi-final against our old friends from ECB
who won the other pool. Once again, Bergen was running after the score
but managed to score three tries in a row (last one from Hamish looping
nicely with our welsh full-back Danny). The final score was 19 to 7
and Bergen was ready to face again the Aussie who easily beat Trondheim
in the other semi-finale.
With the help of Brunzie and Karl Harper (ORK players), the BRK boys
were listening to the last advice from captain Hamish : «Let us score
first this time». And we did it . And once more, the hero was David
Hume who managed to grab the ball on an aussie scrum and score. The
score was 5-0 to Bergen at half-time. Unfortunately, the Aussies succeed
to score twice in the second-half on counter-attacks. This was very
unlucky for Bergen who dominated this second-half but without scoring.
The forwards played a superb rugby in the finale, especially Karl, Dave
and Brunzie. Final score was 12-5 to the Aussie. Despite their loss
in the finale, Bergen can still be proud to be NM 10's 2005.
The juniors played three solid games against two teams from Fosen with
one victory and two losses.
Nothing more to add on this tournament which ended at the pub drinking
beers, etc, ...
However, we want to thank our reader for his attention and therefore
we offer him two other pictures of the newly born scrum-half : David
Hume.
Now, the big question is : Who is going to play scrum-half for BRK the
8th of October against Oslo in the XV's finale ?
Hanro van Pølse or David Mac Kebab ???

The smokiest team :
1. Svein-Jarle Sindle
2. Karl Frisch
3. Stefan Svellingen
4. David Benjamin
5. Jørn Bjørdal
9. David Hume
10. Hamish Esplin
12. Tim Edstrøm
14. Hervé Socquet-Juglard
15. Danny Thomas
Played for BRK :
Jonathan Bruns (ORK)
Karl Harper
