David Hume new NRF President

February 2005 by HE

Dave Hume new NRF President

After years spent toiling as BRK treasurer, secretary, accountant, cheerleader and resident jock Dave Hume has finally landed Norwegian rugby's most treasured role as President of the Norwegian Rugby Forbund.

After a tense yet thoroughly rewarding annual general meeting held in Oslo last Sunday, Dave emerged as the annointed one for the two-year role defeating, and taking over, from previous President Per Hodne.

In an intriguing footnote to Norway's rugby history Dave will become only the 2nd NRF president following the reign of Per Hodne who had held the top job for over 20 years.

After waking up on Monday to find out it all wasn't a dream Dave now has the onerous task of lifting the profile of Norwegian rugby as well as travelling to fancy European cities to dine with other rugby bigwigs whilst chatting about how good they were in their day.

In Dave's case this shouldn't be too much of a problem as he is still a full-time player (is there such a thing here?) owning the number 7 jersey for BRK and the Norwegian national team for a number of years. Dave has been an major cog in the successful machinery that is BRK helping the club win multiple trophies and has been an integral part of the national 15 side as they strive for European glory.

The club wishes him all the best of luck.
