Inaugural Bergen 7s A Big SuccessApril 16th by Elisabeth BerentzenA bright, sunny day greeted the dozens of rugby enthusiasts of all ages to the Stavollen kunstgrassbane at Fana on Saturday for the second round of the National 7s series. Seven mens, two womens and five junior boys teams from around the country participated in the day with more than 25 matches being played. Undoubtedly the highlight of the day was the strong competition witnessed in the Juniors division with the Ravnanger, Fjell and Gimmle schools supplying three sides from Bergen as well as visiting teams from Kongsberg and Stavanger. All of the Junior sides played the game with a high level of commitment and energy that impressed all the oldies on the sidelines. No doubt Norway's odds of winning the 2011 World Cup have shortened dramatically. Thanks to all the players, referees, coaches, medics, drivers, masseuses, spectators and parents who attended.
